See It In Action

A quick tour of the directory

Your profile

All of it built from the public planning record

Getting found

A search near your work returns the companies with projects in that area. Your pins put you on that map, and verifying lifts the cap on how much of the record we hold for you counts toward being found.

Your roles, services and deliverables are read from the planning record and from your own website, so a search for one of them can return you. Your qualifications count toward how those results are ordered, and verifying puts them on your card.

Your track record

The same projects on your own map, plotted where they happened. Verifying lets you share a link to the ones you pick, so whoever opens it sees the part of your recent record that matters to them.

Verifying also opens your own view of the companies working in your discipline and region, ordered on the planning record behind them.

Gain visibility for your past projects and win new work, free

Your company is already listed from the public planning record, and claiming your profile costs nothing. It puts your projects, your services and your contact details in front of the people searching for a specialist, and we take no commission on the work that follows.

A fair browsing policy

The directory is here so people can find the companies doing the work, not so somebody can copy a list of them. Browsing is under a fair use policy that limits data harvesting, so your details are here to bring you work rather than to fill somebody's mailing list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Planning Review free to use?

Yes. Searching the directory, comparing companies and requesting quotes are free. A listed company can claim its profile for free, with no card, to own it, keep its details accurate and add its own projects. An optional subscription verifies the profile for fuller visibility.

What is the difference between claiming and verifying my profile?

Claiming is free and lets you own your profile: edit your contacts, key people, logo, roles, qualifications, services and deliverables, and add your own projects. Verifying is a paid subscription that adds the verified badge and places you ahead of profiles that are not verified, lifts the search cap so every recent project we hold for you counts toward being found, unlocks your shareable portfolio link and your full photo showreel, shows your complete profile, and sends you direct quote requests.

How much does verification cost?

Verification is £20 a month, or £16.67 a month when you pay yearly, which is 2 months free. Searching the directory and claiming a profile stay free.

How do companies get into the directory?

Most come from the planning record: we build a profile for the companies named on planning applications, as the agent or as a specialist whose report was submitted, showing that work. A company can claim its profile to check it and add its own projects, and a company not listed yet can add itself the same way.

Which disciplines are in the directory?

Planning consultants, architects, ecologists, arboricultural consultants, heritage consultants, bat specialists, archaeologists, transport consultants, flood risk consultants, drainage engineers, acoustic consultants and landscape architects, among others.
