Grow your consultancy from the planning record

Three ways to find work, all from what councils have already published

Companies that regularly need you

Client Finder lists the agents, architects and developers in your area whose applications keep needing your discipline. Each one shows how many of those needs were still open when the decision was issued, and how much of the company's work sits near you.

Companies open to a new specialist

A Loyalty score shows how a company shares out its specialist work. A low score means the work is spread across several specialists, so there is no settled supplier to displace. A high score names the incumbent and their share of the work, so you know what you are up against before you call.

Live projects that need you now

Approved applications with a condition for your specialism, the condition text picked out, the deliverables named and the agent's contact details beside it. Save the search and new matches arrive by email.

How it works

From a council decision to a conversation, in three steps

1

We read the planning record

We read planning documents, including decision notices and the specialist reports submitted with applications across the UK, and build a profile of every agent, architect and developer we find.

→
2

You search your area

Enter your location, your specialism and a radius. Client Finder lists the companies that keep needing your discipline, and the search shows the live projects with a condition still to discharge.

→
3

You get in touch

Each company comes with the contact details we hold, the sites and councils in its record and the specialists it has used. Mention a project you can see, then call or email.

Client Finder: the companies in your area that need your specialism

Search a location, a radius and your discipline. The Agents and Applicants tabs list the companies whose applications in that area carried a need for it, with the specialist conditions on their record, the share already met before the decision, and the specialists they have used.

Two columns do most of the work. Loyalty shows whether a company sticks with one specialist or spreads the work, and names the incumbent. Local shows how much of the company's record on our books sits inside your search area, so you know who you can serve repeatedly from where you are. Filter on either, and expand a row for the sites, the councils and the contact card.

Opportunity search: live projects with a condition for your specialism

Search by location, distance, project value, specialist role and deliverable keyword. Each result shows the project value, the distance from you, the deliverables required and the decision date, with the agent's contact details when you open it.

Expand any result to read the condition text taken from the decision notice, so you can see exactly what is required before you pick up the phone, and mark the ones you have enquired about so the same company shows your history next time.

Email alerts: new matches arrive without a search

Save any search as an alert and choose instant, daily or weekly. Each email lists the project, the council, the distance, the project size and the deliverables required, so you can scan it in a minute and open only the ones worth pursuing.

What is Client Finder?

A list of the agents, architects and developers in your area whose applications keep needing your discipline, with a Loyalty score (whether they stick with one specialist) and a Local score (how much of their work is near you). It comes with every paid plan.

Where do the opportunities come from?

From the planning record. We read decision notices, pick out the conditions that need a specialist, and show each one with the agent on the application and their contact details. We also read the specialist reports submitted with applications, so you can see where a specialist is already engaged.

Which specialists is it for?

Over 20 specialist roles, including EPC assessors, drainage engineers, ecologists, landscape architects, contamination specialists, acoustic and heritage consultants, arborists and archaeologists.
